2018 kicks off with a bang with the January Downtown Artwalk, Wednesday, January 3, 5-8 pm! The event, which happens the first Wednesday of each month, is a perfect start to the new year, and to Mardi Gras (yes, its already that time). It’s free and all-ages friendly.
We’ll have some amazing one-of-kind Dennis Beckman Mardi Gras masks for you to try and purchase at Norsworthy Gallery. In addition to Dennis’ works there will be artists and artworks of all kinds. Your stops will include (with more coming):

Artists will include: WIRED & SASSY, LLC – Artisan Jewelry, Tracy McComic, Robert E Trudeau, Darcel Moreno, Rusty Carter, Bertha Harris, La Vie En Rose, Heather Evans, Christine White Bailey & Kimberly Gable. The Louisiana Architectural Foundation’s Mischa Farrell will be with us again for the popular Sketch the City event, we’re planning a fun History in Five talk, the Spring Street Museum is digging through the archives to find info about the early days of Mardi Gras. Other artists to come.
The Downtown Artwalk is free to attend and open to all ages. It features art, artists, Sketch the City and History in 5, our fun (and short) history talk featuring fascinating tales about downtown!
All on-street parking is free after 5 pm and the casino parking garages are always free and open to all.
